All Kinds Of Moms: April

All Kinds Of Moms: April

I can feel this generational love all the way back to my childhood. Both of my grandma's were so present in my life. My Granny would babysit me everyday after school and watch Caillou with me; and the fam would hop in the minivan and head out to Levack every weekend to visit my papa and grandma, where my grandma would spend hours putting my hair in braids and ringlets. They never missed a dance recital or musical performance, and nothing says love more than sitting through 30 teens singing High School Musical horribly and telling me it was the best show they've ever seen afterwards. I think it's a really challenging thing to explain how generational love changed me because it's so rooted in my being. I've been so lucky to have close relationships with my grandparents my entire life. When my Grandma moved in with my family, our bond just grew strong with our nightly chats about the Levack general store and curling.

The women in my family never set any limitations on what I could achieve. There was constant support for one another. I'm proud to say that we are an extremely tight family unit and we would drop absolutely anything if it meant our family needed us.

I appreciate these women because thanks to them, I know that I always have someone in my corner. There is always someone rooting for me to succeed. There is always someone who believes in me and my dreams especially on the days when I struggle to believe in them myself.

Everyone says they have the greatest mom in the world until they meet Giselle, my gorgeous mama! There has never been a single moment in my life where I didn't have the love and support I needed. She is the glue that holds our entire family together. I watched my mom do everything in her power to make sure everyone else in our family was happy. She is the most generous person on this planet. There is no way that in a million lifetimes could I ever repay her for the beautiful life she gave me and then copious amounts of love I still receive from her on the daily.

This year for Mother's Day, we want to emphasize the importance of motherhood, in its many shapes, sizes, and circumstances. We will be showcasing a few of the various types of maternal love we are privileged to witness in our Stitch World. While there are so many ways to mother, we're shining a spotlight on the magical moms around us.
